Why there is no banner
Snip uses no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. There is no Google Analytics, no pixel, no ad network.
The only cookies set are strictly necessary to run the service, or hold a setting you chose yourself. Those are exempt from consent, and a banner asking permission to set them would be asking for permission nobody needs.
The cookies that are set
authjs.session-token — keeps you signed in. Strictly necessary; it goes away when you sign out.
snip.locale — remembers the language you chose, so the next page is already in it on its first frame rather than after a flicker.
snip.admin — is only ever set on the internal administration console, never on a customer account.
Cloudflare Turnstile may set a technical cookie while it checks that the sign-up form is not being filled in by a robot.
What is not a cookie
The light or dark theme is remembered in your browser's local storage, under the key snip.theme. It never leaves your device and is sent to no server.
Payment takes place on Stripe's pages, which apply their own cookie policy.
Refusing them
Your browser can block or delete cookies. Blocking the session cookie simply stops you from staying signed in: the service becomes unusable, without anything else being lost.
