Purpose

Snip is an online service that cuts a long video into vertical clips: it transcribes the source, selects passages from it, reframes them to 9:16 and burns in captions.

Using the service means accepting these terms. Paid subscriptions are governed by a separate terms of sale document.

Account

Using the service requires an account, created by e-mail address or through Google sign-in. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for what is done from your account.

An account is personal. Sharing one, or opening several to work around a plan's limits, is grounds for suspension.

What you warrant about your videos

You declare that you hold the rights to the videos you import, or that you have the permissions needed to make extracts from them and publish those extracts.

This is the most important clause in this document: Snip does not check where a source comes from and has no way of doing so. Importing a video you do not hold the rights to exposes you, and is grounds for closing the account immediately.

Prohibited uses

The following are prohibited: importing unlawful, hateful or child-abuse content, or content infringing someone's privacy; any attempt at unauthorised access to the service; automating calls in order to bypass a plan's limits; reselling the service without written agreement.

Availability

The service is provided as is, with no guarantee of continuous availability. Interruptions may occur for maintenance, for updates, or because of a third-party provider.

Producing a clip relies on automatic processing — transcription, selection, face detection. Their output is a proposal, not a promise of editorial quality: a poorly chosen passage, a mistranscribed caption or an imperfect crop is not a defect in the service.

Liability

The publisher cannot be held liable for indirect damage — loss of audience, of revenue, of opportunity — arising from use of the service.

You remain solely responsible for what you publish from the clips produced.

Closing an account

You may request that your account be closed at any time by writing to [email protected].

An account may be suspended or closed if these terms are breached, with prior notice except in an emergency or where the law requires otherwise.

Changes

These terms may change. The version that applies is the one published on this page; its update date appears at the top of the document. A substantial change is notified to you by e-mail.

Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. Failing an amicable settlement, disputes fall to the courts having jurisdiction.
