Snip vs Munch: a clipping tool against a social platform

Before comparing features, look at where the domain leads. Munch is no longer positioned as a clipping tool, and that reframes the whole comparison.

On 9 August 2026, getmunch.com returns a permanent redirect to munchstudio.com, where the product is presented as an AI social media management platform: content strategy, generated posts, publishing and scheduling to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and TikTok, planning and performance tracking. Their site does not explicitly say this was formerly Munch; we report the redirect and the page content, not a company history.

Their grid has two plans, Essential at $38 a month and Premium at $60, with 500 and 1,000 minutes of video repurposing a month. That is the line closest to a clipping quota, and it is more generous in minutes than Snip's equivalent tiers.

Snip does one thing: captioned vertical clips from a long video, with framing that follows the speaker. No content strategy, no publishing, no planning, no performance tracking, and a recurring free plan of 60 minutes a month where Munch offers a 7-day trial.

Munch column read on 9 August 2026 on https://www.munchstudio.com/pricing and https://www.munchstudio.com, after the 301 redirect from https://www.getmunch.com/pricing. Their site publishes no watermark policy, no export resolution and no reframing detail, so those rows stay empty rather than guessed. Snip column: our own plans.

When Munch is the better choice

If your problem is your whole social presence, not producing a clip.

  • You want a content strategy and generated posts, not only excerpts from an existing video.
  • You publish on five networks and want to do it from one place, with a calendar and performance tracking.
  • Your video volume is high: 500 minutes a month on Essential and 1,000 on Premium, more than the 300 minutes of Snip's Pro tier at a comparable price.
  • You are a team: unlimited members are advertised on their Premium plan, where Snip has no shared workspace.
  • You need a lot of storage: 100 GB advertised on Essential, 1 TB on Premium.

When Snip is the better choice

If you only want clips, and want to know what they look like before paying.

  • You want to try without committing: 60 minutes of source video a month with no card, against a 7-day trial at Munch.
  • You want a low budget: 15 EUR a month on Snip against $38 for Munch's first plan.
  • Framing is your subject: face detection, speaker tracking, automatic split screen, facecam above gameplay. Their site does not document that work.
  • You want to cut by reading the transcript, with filler and silence removal.
  • You want to know the export resolution and watermark policy before paying: 1080p vertical, watermark on the free plan only.

What the pricing actually changes

The two grids do not compare term for term. Munch sells a platform at $38 or $60 a month, where video minutes are one line among content strategy, generated posts, planning and tracking. Snip sells clipping minutes at 15, 30 or 60 EUR a month, and nothing else.

On video volume alone, Munch is more generous: 500 minutes a month at $38 against 300 minutes at 30 EUR on Snip. On commitment it is the reverse: Munch has no recurring free tier, only a 7-day trial, while Snip gives 60 minutes every month with no card. And on three rows that often decide a purchase (watermark, export resolution, kind of reframing), their site publishes nothing, so check during the trial.

Frequently asked questions

Is Munch still a long-video clipping tool?

On 9 August 2026, getmunch.com permanently redirects to munchstudio.com, where the product is presented as a social media management platform. Their grid still carries a video repurposing minutes line (500 on Essential, 1,000 on Premium), so processing existing video remains part of the offer, but it is no longer how the product presents itself.
