Snip vs Quso.ai: a clipping tool against a social suite
These two are not competing for the same budget line. One replaces part of your editing, the other also replaces your scheduling tool.
Paste a link and clipChecked on August 9, 2026Quso.ai, formerly vidyo.ai, sells a suite: automatic clipping, a video editor, publishing and scheduling to 6 platforms, export in 16:9, 9:16 and 1:1, a content planner, a brand kit, social analytics and an AI assistant depending on tier. Its quota is in credits, one credit being one uploaded minute rounded up, and monthly credits do not roll over.
Snip does one thing: turn a long video into captioned vertical clips with framing that follows the speaker. No publishing, no scheduling, no analytics, no planner, no brand kit.
Quso.ai's free plan gives 75 credits a month at 720p with TikTok publishing and 7 day retention. Snip's gives 60 minutes at watermarked 1080p vertical, with no access to the editor.

When Quso.ai is the better choice
As soon as your need goes past producing the clip.
- You want to publish and schedule inside the tool: 6 platforms from the Lite tier, and TikTok already on the free plan.
- You want an editorial calendar and analytics in the same place: content planner on Essential, social analytics on Growth.
- You need formats beyond vertical: 16:9, 9:16 and 1:1 from Lite. Snip only outputs 9:16.
- You want a brand kit with logos, colours and fonts, plus unlimited templates: that is the Growth tier.
- You prefer an annual plan that doubles the credits: their grid advertises 200, 600 and 1,200 credits a month by tier, against 100, 300 and 600 monthly.
When Snip is the better choice
If the clip is the problem and distribution is already handled elsewhere.
- You want 1080p without paying: Quso.ai's free tier renders 720p, Snip's exports 1080p vertical.
- Your footage has two guests or gameplay with a facecam: Snip switches to split screen and puts the facecam above the game, a case their page does not detail.
- You want filler and silence removal without moving up a tier: included everywhere on Snip, advertised from Essential there.
- You edit from the transcript: deleting a sentence removes it from the clip.
- You do not want unused credits to be a topic: on their plans, monthly credits do not roll over.
What the pricing actually changes
Both meters count source minutes under two names. One Quso.ai credit is one uploaded minute rounded up: a 25 min 40 s video burns 26 credits. At paid entry, Lite gives 100 credits for $29 a month, while Snip gives 150 minutes for 15 EUR. Billed yearly their grid drops to $19 a month while doubling credits to 200, which flips the ranking, so the calculation depends as much on the billing period as on the tier.
Two things to keep in mind. Their monthly credits do not roll over, so a quiet month is lost; Snip's quota also resets monthly. And part of Quso.ai's price funds scheduling, planning and analytics. If you already pay a scheduling tool alongside, compare the sum of both subscriptions rather than the headline price, in either direction.
Frequently asked questions
Is Quso.ai the old vidyo.ai?
Yes. Their own site has a page about the rename and states that accounts, plans and prices carried over. If you were looking for a vidyo.ai alternative, this is the same product under a new name. How many minutes is one Quso.ai credit?
One uploaded minute, rounded up: their documentation gives the example of a 25 min 40 s video burning 26 credits, and a video under a minute counting as one credit. That is the same logic as Snip's minute meter. Can Snip schedule posts?
No, and no publishing or analytics either. Quso.ai posts to TikTok from its free plan and to 6 platforms from Lite, with a content planner on Essential. There is no comparison to make on that ground. Can Snip export 16:9 or square?
No. Snip only produces 9:16 vertical at 1080p. Quso.ai advertises all three formats (16:9, 9:16 and 1:1) from the Lite tier. If you also feed a horizontal YouTube channel, that is a point for them. Are unused credits lost?
On Quso.ai monthly plans, yes: their documentation states that unused credits do not roll over to the next month, and that annual plan credits reset after twelve months. Snip's monthly quota also resets.Read next
